If you haven’t noticed yet, the website itself has gone through a complete overhaul. Here are some details on the site refresh!
As I have promised transparency with the site and what’s being done with it, I would like to relay to you how the site works and what happened.
The Geofront operates using WordPress, a pretty commonly used blog content management system that you can find throughout the internet. Due to being open source, it is very robust with a large community adding to it. However, this also means that it is also a very common target for bots and hackers- mostly with the intention to install more bots and keep their ‘spam virus’ going across the internet.
So the theme has been switched from Graphene to Lekh, another theme that seemed to have a much ligher footprint for the server. With a couple of additional plugins to allow me to make further changes to the site, some custom cosmetic CSS, I think I’ve gotten to the point where I like this new setup just a bit. (And it does have parallax, which I’ve been wanting to use on a site for guilty-pleasure reasons. So that’s a win.)
I believe the issue with the old theme was that it suddenly had issues connecting with the Gravatar system that WordPress uses. And since we also needed a theme that would be a lot more friendly for mobile users… well… here we are. It was good timing, as it was something I was planning to do anyway.
This refresh doesn’t necessarily mean news is on the horizon, but I’ve been working with Ribose on something to whet your appetites a bit while you wait. However, what it does mean is that the site remains secure and safe for you to browse, which is extremely important for any site on WordPress.
And while the site is open, this doesn’t mean that the changes are done. There will constantly be little things on the back end that I feel need to be tweaked and updated. Plugins updated, changed, removed, and so forth. Many posts for this refresh, for example, had to be updated to function along with it.
As always, if you run across any jankiness or oddities with colors or other things not displaying properly, let me know. You can always do that here via comments, or to me on twitter.
Any news and update this site gets is always good news to me.
Nice. Looking forward to the next update!
Now I can’t see how many comments are without entering on the post (and doing
But if I enter on the post, I can’t see if there’s a new entry…
Halp. 🙁
(and doing F5 on the main page like until now)*
‘kay, I can still do F5 on the dashboard; anything new appears there \o/
This is something I dislike about this theme and plan to fix one day, but it will require a lot more in-depth work on the theme than I can do at this point. I’ll also send a request to the theme maker to see if they can make this an option available, since it’s a pretty new theme. Maybe they can get it done before I do.
So when can we download the new patch?
Tomorrow at 18:00 exactly, Mr. Geofront told me minutes ago on Telegram.
Are you sure?
Are your sure?
Pretty sure it is a no at this point.
We would have an announcement on this page for when we’re releasing if we were…
Thanks for all the work, if i may ask tho.. since i’m quite a noob on translating and writing stuff.
i wonder what is actually been done on editing progress ? and i assume after editing, there will be development and QA .. what will be done on that steps.. and are both of them require a lot of time as editing ? thanks ! i wish this project can be done ASAP
thank you for all the hardwork you all have done so far the changes to the website look awesome, the improventments i’ve seen towards the game look amazing and i appreciate them.
i do have a question about the translations being done, i’ve been playing through the janky translation that someone else did (someone sent it to me so i could play the game in english on stream i think im near the end of chpt 3) and i notice that randy seems to refer to elie as “milady” and tio as “peTIOte” quiet a bit cuz hes joking or teasing or w/e with them but the sentences come off really weird/awkward cause of the words so im just curious if you guys are going to be using the same phrasing or if you have made a decision to go with a different phrasing?
Thanks. Keep up the good work folks. Rooting for you.
Translation projects like this makes me want to pursue Game Development in the future 😀
Super grateful for the work being done by the team. Planning on putting of ToCS III until this is ready 🙂
Will you do a fan translation of ao no kiseki after you are done with zero no kiseki translation?
Falcon is bringing ao and zero to west
Can you please give me a source on this?
I assume the recent event statement of desire to get them out so everyone can play them spiraled out of control as rumors.

I still don’t see that as confirmation that it’s absolutely for sure coming out in the west. This heavily implies that they’re working on it, but we don’t even know how many years out this will be. It’s way too early to straight up say it’s absolutely coming to the west.
For example, Ys IX comes out this September. Do we know when that’s coming? It’s more than likely happening, but we have nothing on a confirmation on it. Please don’t conflate ‘wants’ with ‘confirmations.’
I agree. I still plan on playing your team’s translation, as it would release much sooner than an official translation. Just figured I’d post what info we have considering the other dude didn’t post anything more.
I have a question/suggestion/volunteering.
I love this series with all my heart but theres a ton of things to keep in mind when playing what with the NPCs, Dialogue variations based on who you take everywhere, and other cool things. I’d like to contribute to a serious effort to document this stuff rather than taking thousands of screenshots per game and 100%ing the games every single time I play that I never look through or forget most of the details the next time I do.
I know there was a serious effort to document Sky’s NPCs that went pretty well, but I dont really feel like wikis work the best for this. I was thinking we fan’s could organize some kind of Notebook like in Cold Steel for this stuff. I’ve seen spreadsheets organized with pictures and stuff that would be pretty close and we could sort stuff by town and game. Do you think this is feasible and do you have any interest in hosting it?
Obviously, I have no intention of doing anything that hurts the Zero Translation, so if this is a lot of work even for people that would be familiar with the stuff required to make it, forget it.
Hello guys! Great work you’re doing!
I’m just curious if you’re planning an update until the end of July. Since it’s been so long without an update, I was curious. Any chance of it releasing before NISA’s Cold Steel III? Not trying to presure anyone, I know this is a passion project of fans and you should take all the time you need! Just, please, update us how the project is going so my anxiety doesn’t kill me 😀
Thanks for everything!
this will be unpopular in these parts, but just go play the existing fan TL. Its not as good as the geofront TL will be but you will get to play it before CS3.
Yeah, I’m just doing that. Really could not wait any longer. And the translation isn’t even that bad! And, oh my, what an amazing game.
Still, keep strong guys!
